Horrible Pick-up Lines

While having a conversation with my brother about a recent night out, I tell him about one guy in particular. He was arrogant, shady, and Canadian. He was bragging about having a lot of money due to bitcoins.

Which  my brother and I agreed has to be the nerdiest/worst pick-up line. Mostly it's so bad because it has to be explained. What the fuck is a bitcoin?!?! This lead to a very confusing discussion (I'm still unsure how it all works out. Basically I just want my Stanley Nickels as promised from The Office.) Somehow this guy bragged about making 600k a year and yet I was still bored and unimpressed. Also he hated guns. I don't want to date a pussey. So out of all of the pick-up lines I've heard over the years, "Hey baby, I've got a lot of money in bitcoins," has to be the most useless line. You have to spend 30 minutes explaining to a girl how she should be impressed with that factoid. If two men walked up to me and one man said, "I've killed five guys," and the other man says, "I have a lot of money in bitcoins," there is clearly a winner here.... and it's not bitcoin guy.

What's your lousiest pick-up line? Leave a comment.

How to Stay on Track with Your New Year's Resolutions

Firstly, you should know I am writing this all hopped up on antihistamines and cough medicine. Ye be warned. I felt like listening to jazz band and ringing in the new year with my girls all dressed up in swanky gold and black dresses reminiscent of the 1920s. It was a well intended idea, but alas, we are not a smoke-free state/city. Now my voice is seductive and raspy but is being wasted on dogs and not a hot man. However, I look like hell and my hair is a rats nest so that may be for the best.

This year my resolutions are focused on staying focused. I'm terrible for being pulled in 15 different directions. I agree to do things that I don't have time for and as a result I sacrifice sleep, workouts, and time spent with friends and family. As always I wish to improve upon my body, mind, and soul during the upcoming year. So how does one achieve staying on track? With a plan!!

1. Outline my goals: Start by picking out my goals for the year, which I have done. I've made them very vague, because over the span of a year a lot of changes can take place. I'll graduate grad school, start a new job, maybe move to a new city, etc... So start vague. Then break it down. Month by month- what are you goals? Then week by week. And finally day by day.

2. Visual Ques: I HAVE to see things visually to remember them. I like to use a dry erase board (I have three by my bed). I have one that is a monthly calendar. I look at it when I go to bed so I can make sure to have everything prepared for the next day. What I don't do, and need to do is mark down what days I'll work out instead of leaving it up to when I feel like working out. If I schedule it, it will get done. Same applies to homework, blog posts, books, etc. Use visual cues to stay on track.

3. Be Prepared: Be prepared for bad days. You'll get sick, school will announce some crazy assignment, etc. Things won't go as planned. So have a back up plan. Also, don't beat yourself up if you didn't accomplish everything on your list. It's ok. Not every workout will be a great workout. Not every story will be a work of art. That's fine. That's why you can edit! ;)

4. Reward Yourself: This will be hard for me since money is so tight. I barely have any income because of school. If I can't reward myself with buying something fun, like a cute flirty dress or new running gear, then my next go to reward is food. I cannot tell you how many times I day dream about eating a ton of Reese's Cups when I'm running. If I just run up this hill without stopping I'll reward myself with a candy bar! No. Just no. That is counter productive. Ha! So I will try to find new ways to reward myself. Possibly a DIY facial mask, a bath, snuggle fest with my dog while watching Netflix.

There's how I am tackling my New Years Resolutions! Leave a comment. What are your resolutions? How do you stay focused? What are some cheap ways you reward yourself? Here's to a blessed happy New Year to us all!!

xoxo Sally
